Today, studying abroad for various study program have become a trend among Indian students and. every year thousands of Indian students apply in various Universities abroad. Universities in US and UK receive high numbers of Indian applicants for their various regular and vocational courses. Studying abroad helps students to become more mature, confident and resilient and all such qualities are counted at their workplace.

However, everything has a flipside as well and overseas education also comes with certain demerits. Though overseas education promises you great future and rewarding jobs but it is very expensive for a middle class family to send their children for a higher education in US, UK etc. Most of these families take loans or other financial aids to sponsor the education.

Branson Brains – But Parents Put Me Down The Mine

Lack of communication in the education system of yesterday deprived many a scholar of becoming the next Richard Branson, due to the fact the importance of having an education behind you was never first and foremost on our list of studies unlike it is today in 21st century schools.

Caring parents need to know where to draw the line and face up to reality that we are not in the position to help with our children’s education. Parents I agree know what’s best for their child when it comes to nurturing and preparing them for the future but when it comes to succeeding in life, then mum/dad you need to step down.

Educational instructors have trained/studied for years passing exams to take on the role of teacher/tutor passing on their knowledge to others. As caring parents it is in your child’s best interest to leave the task of furthering their education to the professionals.

Not all 15 year old school leavers fall under the same category as me and are qualified to sit down with the kids and give lessons. But for the less fortunate with no educational background then what right have we to destroy any chance the kiddies might have

A career move in days gone by was to join the staff at Woolworth’s, a company that never asked for papers i.e. GCSE etc on how to fill shelves, but this is all changing. How can we possibly believe that ours kids future will be bright and rosie without qualifications. Why live in hope that our children make the right decisions in life to fulfil their dreams. Children are influenced by their parents, but if mum/dad decides to sit back and do nothing then you as a parent have failed by taking away a lifeline for their survival.

If you are concerned about securing your child’s future then do something about it now. Parents do not live forever and in some sad cases children have been orphaned from a young age with no one to point them in the right direction.

For success in days gone by we looked for support from our parents, but how could mum/dad help us to make the right decision where their lack of knowledge taught them that living a life was about trudging through the snow to work in the mill or mines.

Parents of the 21st century have come along way and understand the meaning of the word wisdom, learn by others mistakes. If it takes some ones downfall for you as a parent to come to your senses then so be it

Confront those fears of what will happen to your kids if something should happen to you by furthering their education.

If you want the initials RIP mean what they represent then make sure to do right by your kids, if you don’t then you will forever turn in your grave while your children struggle in this life to survive.

Is School Equipment Important To A Child’s Education

School equipment is one of the most basic things that all schools require. Anything from learning materials such as stationery, exercise books or sports equipment to school furniture and facilities, and also safety and maintenance equipment. Certain equipment, such as pencils, pens, or paper does need to be replenished on a frequent basis and are known as consumables. Other equipment such as tables or electricals tends to be much more expensive and there can be reluctance to replace them even when it is necessary. This is especially true now that schools are given very tight budgets from councils and the government.

According to a recent study carried out by BBCs Newsround, the news service for children across the UK, school equipment may not be fit for purpose. The study asked children their general opinions on the equipment and furniture they used. The responses were surprising: Almost all children reported serious problems. These ranged from broken, uncomfortable chairs, damaged tables, equipment that is unsuitable or too small. It seems as if headteachers do not realise how unhappy children are with the equipment they use which is a serious concern.

Another very recent debate about the quality of school buildings versus the quality of teaching was recently posted. The new education secretary Michael Grove announced that the new school building project and the BSF Building schools for the Future set up by the previous government would be cancelled to save money. But many people have argued that this means children will need to use outdated equipment in an educational setting, while others have said that the buildings as long as safe are effective enough. Whether they have considered the effect on existing furniture and equipment remains to be seen.

The recent credit crunch, recession and general lack of money in public sector spending may become a serious problem for schools with limited budgets. A typical budget for school equipment must be spread across everything from site equipment and maintenance to teaching material for children. While some of the material may still be adequate from the point of teachers, they may fall short of health and safety or quality standards set by UK and EU laws.

While the conditions of the buildings themselves are perhaps not the most important, unless of course they fall below the minimum standard, the equipment itself must always be fully functional and up to the minimum standard. School equipment can be purchased from large educational suppliers such as The Consortium. School equipment are some of the fundamental building blocks to a childs education, and combined with effective teaching can be a very important step for any child. Schools can save money by negotiating for bulk prices of items, especially expensive items such as educational furniture and searching for the best prices possible for any item. Any school budget, especially for schools which are having difficulties financially, should be carefully planned and set aside to be spent on items which need the most investment and replacement.

Reasons Why Education Is A Wise Investment

While different people will have different opinions about “education” and its value, I don`t know anyone who wouldn`t agree that “learning more” is better than “knowing less”.

Education, as I define it for this article, includes school, seminars, workshops and all manner of formal approaches; as well as coaching, mentoring, apprenticeships, focused reading, online learning, planned experiences and more. As you read this article I urge you to think broadly and expansively about your definition of education.

Regardless of how you feel about “formal” education, and regardless of many examples we could cite of people with PhD`s who have underachieved or sixth grade dropouts who achieved at the highest levels, it is hard to argue with the premise in the title that education is a wise investment.

So, you could ask, why write this article if I feel like everyone agrees with the basic premise?

Two reasons: I want to expand your thinking about what education and learning means, and I want to convince/remind you that this isn`t an argument about “others,” the young or out of work for instance, but that it is about every one of us.

So please read the rest of this article, and the questions at the end, with one eye on the words and one eye looking in the mirror.

In other words, I`m writing to you.

As you look at any investment in any situation, you must examine what you will gain compared to what it will cost.

When you compare those things you can determine the return on your investment. Your costs in this calculation are time, energy, focus and, yes, money. Consider those and compare them to the returns described below.

The Seven Reasons
Increase your self confidence. When you are learning new things, new horizons are opening up in your mind. You feel better about yourself and your ability to achieve. After all, if you can learn one thing, you can learn more! True genuine self confidence is something that we all can use more of; investing in your education and learning will add to your storehouse of self confidence.

Reach your goals. There is a learning component within every goal, large or small. As you learn more in the focused areas related to our goals and aspirations, you are able to move towards achieving them more rapidly. Investing in education in support of your goals is one of the best things you can do to increase the likelihood that you will reach – and even exceed – them.

Have more fun. When you are reaching your goals and feeling more confident don`t you think you are going to have more fun? You can invest in learning anything! Want to learn how to knit or ballroom dance or judge wines? Whatever your passion, learning opens up new opportunities to enjoy them even more.

Improve your attitude. Human beings are – by design – learning beings. When we are doing the things that make us most human (including learning) we naturally are more upbeat and positive. When you are learning things that help move you towards your goals, will you likely be more positive and optimistic? You bet!

Increase your momentum. Momentum is a powerful thing. As the rock rolls down the hill and picks up speed, it becomes more powerful and able to overcome the obstacles in its way much easier. So it is for people too. Learn something, improve your confidence; learn something more and have a more positive attitude; learn something new and you thirst for more. As you continue to learn your learning momentum grows, as does the momentum of your success. A perfect reason to never stop learning!

Increase your earning power. One of the most reliable related factors to financial success is a person`s willingness to learn, and willingness to invest in learning. Notice I didn`t say the correlation is to formal education or degrees, but rather the desire, motivation and practice of continual learning. There is a reason the people with bigger net worths have bigger libraries. . .

Reach your potential. Deep inside all of us (especially as our self confidence becomes healthier) is a desire to move closer and closer to our potential – to becoming the person we were meant to be. No other single action will tip the scales towards you reaching your potential more than continuing to invest in yourself as a learner.

To be sure, these seven reasons are inter-related; as you realize one, you are likely recognizing others – maybe all of them – simultaneously.

It`s like putting hot fudge on top of homemade ice cream – it`s hard to get too much of the good stuff of learning (and life)!

And now, the closing questions I promised.

Ask them carefully and take the appropriate action.

How To Improve Rural Education In India

Indian literacy rate in the year 2011 census was 74.04 Government of India has taken several measures to improve the literacy rate in villages and towns of India. State Governments has been directed to ensure and improve literacy rate in districts and villages where people are very poor. There has been a good improvement in literacy rate of India in last 10 years but there is still a long way to go.

Many children living in rural areas receive a level of education which is very poor. But City areas level of education is very good.
To compare with city education and rural education:
“There are many schools in cities and towns but there are very few schools in villages and the rural areas.

“Transportation facilities like bus pick and in city schools where as children in rural areas have to walk miles to reach their schools.

“Basic amenities like no drinking water in provided in some of the schools in villages.

“Level of education in City schools is far advanced as compared to the basic level taught in rural schools.

“Computer facility is there city areas but no computer facility in villages.

“Group classes are taken by using video conferencing and audio conferencing in City schools where as no such facilities are provided for students in rural schools.

“The teachers are given tools like laptops, printers to provide notes and other important notices to the children in city schools while there are no such facilities in the rural schools.

“School infrastructure in case of cities areas is much more advanced as compared to that in schools in rural areas where some times children are even made to sit on the floor due to non-availability of furniture.

” School education in city areas is more advanced especially since there is a lot of computer aided teaching.
“Apart from the course curriculum rural schools are not able to involve children in other activities like sports, co-curricular activities and competitions. Such events and activities tend help in the over all development of the children.

Government of several measures India has taken to improve the education in villages and towns of India. But some step to improve rural side education.
List of Steps taken by Government of India to improve rural areas side education in India:

Step1: To provide free standard education to rural children.
Step2: Supporting children for higher education.
Step3: Guiding and Supporting Research scholars in Educational Development.
Step4: Implementing new teaching methodologies and Assessment system.
Step5: Promoting all schools to stress free environment.
Step6: Free education programs to poor people living in villages.
Step7: To provide Free Internet facility.
Step8: In our schools in rural side monthly once arrange seminar on any one topic example how to develop our communication?
Step9: In rural side must to teach spoken English. Because in this world English is very important. Most of the country speaking in English so rural side the government takes the step to provide free spoken English.
Step10: Maintain rank card system. Giving gift to top ranking students.
Step11: Extra caring to teach the poor students.
Step12: Yearly twice arranges the industrial visit.
Step13: Arrange the bus facility.
Step14: Maintain uniform education for all states. The Government of Tamil Nadu has been implemented the Common School System is called “Samacheer Kalvi” or Tamil Nadu Uniform System of School Education or Equitable education system. This is very good System. This System purpose is to make same quality syllabus which can stop discrimination based on economy, caste, religion and background for all school boards in Tamil Nadu. If we will have uniform education system in the states poor children can get more advantages of better education.
